Oisín (born 17 July 1988) is an unsigned Irish singer-songwriter who has been based in Basel, Switzerland for the past 5 years.

Music Career
2006–2011: Non-mainstream career
Oisín performed with Aspiro, (the former Carlow Youth Choir) under the direction of Mary Amond O’Brien and in 2006 he met acoustic guitar player Aidan Brennan whilst performing off Broadway in New York with the Mabou Mines production, Peter and Wendy. After hearing some of Oisín’s material Brennan encouraged the seventeen year old Oisín to write more and travel to meet other writers.
When a job opportunity presented itself, Oisín moved to Switzerland in the summer of 2007 and it wasn’t long before he started to get offers to perform on various projects. In 2008 he was offered the opportunity to co-write some material and perform the songs on what was to be an EP release. When the producers decided to release a full album from the EP’s picking list, Oisín decided not to promote the release as the majority of their material did not reflect his own style and chalked the encounter down to experience.
In 2009 Oisín was selected by Ten Time Grammy Award Winner Bobby McFerrin, from over two thousand applicants to perform with him in Germany on a collaboration of McFerrin’s. In late 2009 Oisín took to the stage at the Sligo Live Festival in Ireland as guest to Imelda May and with musicians Conor Farrell Brady, Paul Moore and Aidan Brennan, impressed upon the audience his captivating style. Holding down a fulltime job in Switzerland and continuing to write, Oisín decided that it was time to get in front of fans and concentrate on the live side of his career and continue to hone his craft both as writer and performer.
He co-wrote with friend and now band member, Aidan Brennan songs like “I’ve Tried”, “Its Gonna Be Me” and in 2010 collaborated with Swiss writer Roman Keller, Mark “Duck” Blackwell Writer for The Saturdays and producer Paddy Dalton in London. Over the next year, Oisín wrote a number of songs that were described by Darragh Kettle, (former head of Peers Music’s Irish operation) as some of the best he had heard from an unsigned artist in recent years.
Early Years
Oisín was born in Co. Kilkenny Irelandto Irish parents. It was while attending secondary school, at Castlecomer in Kilkenny Oisín decided to take Transition Year as a way to explore the various career opportunities that appealed to him at the time. It was while in TY, he auditioned for the lead role in the schools production of the musical Grease and after playing the part, Oisín knew performing offered him a sense of place not experienced until then and it was from this experience was the realization that music was where his future lay.
Oisín braved the stage shortly after this to perform in an amateur talent competition where the then 16 Year Old won first prize and the handsome sum of €1000.
And so, the journey began!
