"Zi Jin Cheng DIY Recording" is a small independant music label created in 2010, by Simon and HB ( y ) aside of their recording studio of the same name (Colombier/NE).

The purpose of this label is not to make commercial production, but to help bands of any style, wishing to work in DIY (Do It Yourself!) mode, to realize their projects. This means that they get involved in all the steps of the realization of their album (composition, recording, mixing, design, manufacturing), as well as...

The purpose of this label is not to make commercial production, but to help bands of any style, wishing to work in DIY (Do It Yourself!) mode, to realize their projects. This means that they get involved in all the steps of the realization of their album (composition, recording, mixing, design, manufacturing), as well as its distribution.

This approach participates in an artistic militancy (and de facto politics), aiming at a reappropriation of the artistic works by their authors. The choices of compositions, colors, arrangements, dynamics, durations, etc. are not dictated by the laws of the markets imposing a standarsation of the audio format (Vumeters blocked in 0db, radio edit, smooth and soapy content, bandwidth, etc.), but by the aspirations of the interprets. The technical possibilities of the mixing do not belong any more to the industry but to treated music. It's the same for the graphic aspects and the packaging
